Our Saturday service is available from 9am-3pm and is based at @ the Link (Paradykes ASC) during both Term time and School holidays. The service can be open from 8am if required but must be discussed before your child begins using our service.
The Children that attend our service are mostly referred to us through Midlothian council and our main aim is to provide respite care, allowing parents and carers the opportunity for rest, while knowing their child/ren are happy and settled in a warm, friendly, caring environment.
The range of activities and the calm atmosphere at Saturday service aims to promote and encourage confidence, independence and enjoyment. Our primary goal is to encourage children to develop their emotional, social, cognitive, interpersonal and physical skills, and their desire to explore, discover and be creative. We do this by focusing on the children’s interests and create a programme of activities, in consultation with the children.
The children enjoy weekly trips. These range from different parks around Edinburgh, Beach trips, local walks in Loanhead and the children recently have loved going to Ryze trampoline park. We have our own mini bus and car to be able to facilitate these trips. We also do a variety of den building and love making campfires! We have a fantastic play park on our front door too with a muga that can be used for football and other sports as well as our sensory garden.
A hot lunch can be provided for your child or a packed lunch can be sent in. We cater for a variety of dietary requirements and allergies.
The staff team on a Saturday have a variety of training including child protection, team-teach, first aid and manual handling. Many of our team have completed their level 3 or 4 in play work too. If there is specific training needed for us to be able to support your child, the staff team will be placed on training prior to your child starting with us.
